Statement
You may have arrived here from a product, app, or service The Product that wants to make a clear promise about how it treats people.
This statement is the public side of that promise. It is meant to help you understand the kind of people behind the thing you are using: what they refuse to do, what they try to protect, and what standard they are asking to be judged by.
You will not have to inspect every corner of a product to find out whether it respects you. The respect will be visible in the defaults, the interface, the business model, and the exit.
The Premise
You are not here to serve The Product. The Product is here to do a job for you.
The organization that adopted this standard makes the deal understandable without needing a lawyer, a security researcher, or a suspicious personality. The Product says what it does, does what it says, and leaves you with more control than you arrived with.
No Data Collection
Your data will not be collected as loot.
If The Product can work without personal information, it will. If limited information is necessary, the reason will be communicated clearly, the scope will be narrow, and the data will stay connected to the thing you asked The Product to do.
The safest data is the data we never collected. That is not a technical trick. It is a promise made in architecture.
No Dark Patterns
You will not be manupilated.
You will not have to dodge fake urgency, disguised ads, guilt buttons, subscription traps, or interface copy written to make the wrong choice feel inevitable.
A clear no is better than a manipulated yes. Consent that depends on confusion is not consent.
No creepy tracking
You are not livestock.
A team may need to understand whether a product works, where it breaks, and how to improve it. That does not require treating you as a profile to be followed, enriched, scored, nudged, and sold.
You are allowed to use a useful thing without becoming the thing being used.
Not stealing your time
You will not be held hostage for attention.
The product will answer the question, perform the task, and let the rest of your day continue. It will not manufacture emergencies, inflate its importance, or keep tapping you on the shoulder because a graph looks better when you stay longer.
Your time is not a leak in our funnel. It is your life.
Transparency Beats Legalese
Plain language is part of the product.
Policies, prices, limits, tradeoffs, and mistakes will be explained in words a normal person can understand. If something important only becomes visible after legal translation, it was not really visible.
